The Phone Call That Changed Everything

Sometimes one conversation changes the course of a company.

Shortly after opening our little Spanish school in Wauwatosa, Brita received a call from a parent who believed in the value of language learning but couldn’t make the Saturday schedule work for her family.

She asked a simple question:
“Could you bring Futura to our school instead?”
The answer was yes.

That first semester at Valley View Elementary School, 86 students enrolled in after-school Spanish. It became clear that making language learning affordable, convenient, and accessible for families meant meeting students where they already were.

Brita made a bold decision to close the storefront school and bring Futura directly into local schools and communities.

That single phone call helped shape the model that still defines Futura today. What began with six students has grown into programs serving thousands of students across Wisconsin, Minnesota and now Texas—all because we believed language learning belongs where children learn every day.

Here’s to 25 years of growing alongside our school communities.
