The Spanish Learning Journey: Trust the Process!
Learning a language takes time and is truly a lifetime journey. At Futura, we use an approach that mirrors how children naturally acquire their first language—by listening, understanding, and gradually beginning to speak.
The “Silent Period”
Many young learners begin with a “silent period,” a normal and active stage where children are listening, processing, and building vocabulary before speaking spontaneously.
For example, when a teacher says, “Formen un círculo,” a student may immediately form a circle even if they cannot yet give the command themselves. This shows they are understanding and processing Spanish.
Remember: understanding comes before speaking. Celebrate these early signs of comprehension rather than focusing only on how much Spanish your child can say.
How Can You Help?
Consistency is key! Just five minutes a day using our weekly newsletters and practice materials can provide valuable reinforcement and help build confidence.
Most importantly, stick with it! The more consistently children hear and experience Spanish, the more opportunities they have to eventually speak it with confidence.

Trust the process, celebrate the small wins, and enjoy the journey!

Get ready to play, compete, and celebrate en Español! 🏅 In this dynamic camp, kids explore the world of sports, games, and the Olympics while learning Spanish through interactive activities, songs, and teamwork. Campers will build vocabulary, practice mini conversations, and discover games and athletes from across the Spanish-speaking world — all in a fun, high-energy environment. 🏆 Ready, set… ¡Vamos a Ganar!
